Particle size of $sup 238$PuO$sub 2$ obtained by oxalate precipitation and calcination

Conference · · Am. Ceram. Soc. Bull., v. 54, no. 12, pp. 1061-1065
OSTI ID:4018744
The factors determining particle size distribution and morphology during precipitation of $sup 238$Pu oxalate and calcination to $sup 238$PuO$sub 2$ were investigated. The manner and rate of solution addition and the rate of mixing during precipitation were the key variables in controlling particle size. A decrease in particle size of calcined $sup 238$PuO$sub 2$ with aging time was also noted. (auth)
