ALLOTROPIC TRANSFORMATION CHARACTERISTICS OF TITANIUM ALLOYS DURING CONTINUOUS COOLING (in Japanese)

Continuous cooling transformation diagrams of flve kinds of titanium- base binary alloys, Ti--Mo, Ti --V, Ti-Nb, Ti--Al, and Ti--Sn are summarized. The specimens were soaked at a suitable temperature under an argon protective atmosphere, prior to quenching, wbich was carried out by argon jet stream. Cooling curves were automatically drawn by recording temporature changes by an electromagnetic oscillograph. From the cooling curves, the continuous cooling transformation diagram was constructed for the respective titanium alloys. (P.C.H.)
