Research and design aspects of the Belgian BR-2 research reactor are outlined. The reactor is light water and Be moderated, light water cooled and reflected, and uses 90% enriched U fuel. It contains beam holes, internal irradiation facilities, and pool irradiation facilities with available fast and thermal neutron fluxes on the order of 10/sup 14//cm/sup 2//sec. Proposed uses of the reactor are outlined. (T.F.H.)
