Inelastic scattering and transfer reactions from $sup 12$C ions on $sup 90$Zr

A thin $sup 90$Zr target was bombarded with 98 MeV $sup 12$C ions. The $sup 12$C, $sup 11$C, and $sup 11$B reaction products were momentum analyzed in a magnetic spectrograph, and angular distributions were measured for several states in the residual nuclei. The inelastic scattering showed nuclear-Coulomb interference effects, and the distorted-wave Born approximation was used to extract deformation parameters. The transfer reaction data were analyzed with a finite range recoil distorted-wave Born-approximation calculation. The magnitude of the deduced spectroscopic factors agreed with previous light-ion results, but the shape of the predicted angular distributions was shifted by 5degree from the experimental data.
