DITHIO- AND SELENOTHIOPHOSPHORUS COMPOUNDS AND THEIR COMPLEXES WITH NICKEL

The nickel derivatives of p-ClC/sub 6/H/sub 4/(C/sub 2/H/sub 5/O)PS/sub 2/H, pCH/sub 3/OC/sub 6/H/sub 4/(C/sub 2/H/sub 5/O)PS/sub 2/H and (C/sub 6/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/PSSeH were pr epared and characterized. The dipyridine and di- gamma - picoline addition compounds of the above nickel derivatives were prepared as well as those of (CH/sub 3/O)/sub 2/PS/sub 2/H,(C/sub 2/H/sub 5/O)/sub 2/PS/sub 2/H, C/ sub 6/H/sub 5/(C/sub 2/H/sub 5/O)PS/sub 2/H, and (C/sub 6/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/PS/sub 2/H. Attempts t o prepare addition compounds with alpha -picoline were unsuccessful as were efforts to separate the simple nickel derivatives of the unsymmetrically substituted dithio compounds into isomeric forms.
