A device for creating a transversal fluid flow between the transversal fins of a fuel element consists of a number of longitudinal units, distributed over the circumference of the fuel element. Each unit is composed of a straight strip with transverse, parallel, triangular, wedge-shaped guide blades. The strip runs along a generatrix of the fuel element while the blades are inclinded with regard to the axial direction of element and their bases touch the periphery of the fins. (NPO)
