A process plant is designed for removing fission products from a gaseous coolant coming from a nuclear reactor. The plant comprises an absorbent material, e.g. charcoal, through which the gas is forced to pass and means for transferring hent from the gas to a condensible gas, e.g. nitrogen, circulated in a closed boiling/condensing circuit which includes a condensing coil located outside the radioactive field. Double containment is provided for the fission products, and the risk of ozone formation by irradiation of oxygen impurity in nitrogen is minimized. (D.L.C.)
