Project VELA consists of research associated with the detection and identification of nuclear detonations. The scope, present status, and planning of the Project are given along with such topics as the operation and layout of the world-wide standard seisldic network, Wichita Mountains Seismological Observatory, and the explosion series to be used in testing equipment.
