ON A SLIGHT DAMPING OF PLASMA WAVES (in Russian)

Oscillation spectra of heterogeneous plasma without external fields and with isotropic particle distribution were studied by means of geometric optical approximation. Calculations were made of damping decrements for highfrequency Langmuir waves and ion oscillations. It is shown that at various spatial poirts various plasma particles participate in wave absorption due to the wave phase velocity dependence on the coordinates. The method of geometric optics was extended to the small integral interdifferential field equations. (tr-auth)
