Np/sup 4+/ forms a colored complex with thorin that has a molar absorptivity of 14500 at 540 m mu . The complex is safficiently stable to be used in determining Np to a precision of plus or minus 2.1% for 0.63 mu g/ml and plus or minus 4.0% for 5.09 mu g/ml. (auth)
