DETECTION OF ADSORBANT SATURATION BY RADIOISOTOPIC ANALYSIS

The accepted method of detection of adsorbant saturation by pyrolytic capsule fouling test (PCFT) is not suitable for use with the present OMRE coolant since the influent to the adsorber column already exhibits a PCFT value below detectable limits. Recent operation of the adsorber system during reactor operation indicates that radioisotopic analysis (primarily for /sup 24/Na and / sup 56/Mn) can be used to detect saturation. (auth)
