A small-angle scattering technique is introduced for probing spatial variation of magnetization in solids with resolution down to {approximately}1{mu}m{sup {minus}1}. The technique uses nuclear resonance scattering of synchrotron radiation. The sensitivity to spatial variation of magnetization due to domain walls and domain structure is demonstrated by small-angle scattering of 14.431 keV synchrotron radiation from {sup 57}Fe nuclei in unmagnetized {alpha}{minus}{sup 57}Fe polycrystalline foils. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
