Static behavior of piezoelectric laminates with distributed and patched actuators

Distributions of displacement, stress, electro-static potential and electric displacement are presented from an exact solution for piezoelectric composite laminates in cylindrical bending. Examples establishing the static behavior of a laminate under distributed and patched mechanical and electrical loadings are considered for several parametric cases. These results provide initial indications of the basic response and parametric behavior of laminates composed completely or in part of embedded piezoelectric layers.
