Development of airborne remote sensing system in China

Airborne remote sensing as an important remote sensing technique has its great advantage and indispensability in the remote sensing system. By giving full play to its importance , the airborne remote sensing technologies and system have been developed to meet the needs of environmental studies, resources exploration and also of the research and development of sciences and technologies in China at recent years. The airborne remote sensing system developed in China has include the sensors system, technical support system and application system etc.. The sensors developed for airborne platform are covered wide range of electromagnetic spectrum from UV, VS, IR to microwave regions. The optical, optic-electronic, multispectral and hyperspectral systems have been developed, operated and successfully used for multidiscipline application, while the airborne synthetic aperture radar and other microwave remote sensing system are also developed and used in many areas, especially in all-weather condition. The great success has been found for disasters monitoring and also in case of emergency response. 1 fig., 4 tabs.
