DWIA calculation of the ({phi}{sup +}, K{sup +}) reaction at threshold on light nuclei

We report the results of Distorted Wave Impulse Approximation calculations for the Strangeness-producing ({pi}{sup +}, K{sup +}) reaction on light nuclei near the K{sup +} threshold, with particular emphasis on the role of relativistic kinematics in determining the proper amplitude to use for the highly mismatched momenta of the baryons. The elementary two-body interaction cross-section at 0{degrees} is a peaked function of the incident {pi}{sup +}-momentum, the location of which is commonly used to select the {pi}{sup +} beam-energy. In our study we investigate how the energy of this peak shifts due to the fact that the initial neutron and final lambda are bound in the nucleus. The effects of recoil on the cross-section are also discussed.
