A coincidence measurement of D{sub N,N{prime}} for p+p elastic scattering at T{sub p} = 200 MeV
- and others
We have measured D{sub NN`} for p+p elastic scattering over a laboratory angle range of {theta}{sub p} = 5{degrees} to 45{degrees} for an incident proton energy of 200 MeV on a solid CH{sub 2} target. The forward-going proton was detected in the IUCF K600 spectrometer and its polarization was measured in the K600`s associated focal plane polarimeter. The recoil proton (ranging in energy from {approx}1-100 MeV) was cleanly detected in a Si/CsI detector telescope. Preliminary results for D{sub NN`} measurements at all angles will be presented. A discussion of possible sources of systematic and statistical errors will ensue. These data should provide further constraints on the value determined for the pion-nucleon coupling constant.
