In a second-generation two-particle correlation study of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the NA35 TPC at the CERN SPS has been used to collect a high statistics data set of negative hadrons forward of rapidity 3 (nucleon-nucleon mid-rapidity) from centrally triggered E/A=200 GeV S + Au collisions. We present preliminary results on the evolution of the source size as a function of pair transverse momentum, as inferred from the two-particle correlation function, in the hope of elucidating dynamical information. In addition, for comparison we present predictions for this evolution based upon a microscopic phase space approach (RQMD).
