Production of high P{sub {Tau}} {pi}{degree} and {eta} mesons by incident and K+ mesons at 530 GeV/c

Data on the production of high P{sub T} {pi}{sup 0} and {eta} mesons were acquired by Fermilab experiment E706 using triggers selected via a finely segmented lead-liquid argon electromagnetic calorimeter. The {pi}{sup 0} and {eta} mesons were reconstructed from photons whose electromagnetic showers were detected in this calorimeter. Incident beam particles were identified using the Meson West beamline Cherenkov counter. Cross-section ratios are presented for the production of high P{sub T} {pi}{sup 0} and {eta} mesons by 530 GeV/c {pi}{sup +} and K{sup +} mesons incident on nuclear targets. Results are compared with previous measurements.
