First observation of B mesons decaying into {Xi}{sub c} charmed baryons

Using about 3 fb{sup {minus}1} of data collected with the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, CESR, on and just below the {Upsilon}(4s) resonance, the authors have looked for evidence of B mesons decaying into the charmed strange baryon {Xi}{sub c}. They present the first observation of B mesons decaying into {Xi}{sub c}{sup 0} and {Xi}{sub c}{sup +}, with {Xi}{sub c}{sup 0}{yields}{Xi}{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}, and {Xi}{sub c}{sup +}{yields}{Xi}{sup {minus}}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +}.
