Describes the features of the 1992 update to the Ontario Hydro 25-year demand/supply plan released in 1989. The introduction discusses the forecasting of future electric power needs, the capability of the existing electricity system, options available for meeting future needs, and selection of options. This is followed by the plan updates with regard to energy efficiency, the contribution from non-utility generation, changes to the hydraulic plan, deferred requirements for major supply options, and environmental impacts. The final section summarizes the public review process involved in the development of the supply/demand plan.
