Proceedings: 1992 EPRI workshop on secondary-side IGA/SCC
- Dominion Engineering, Inc., McLean, VA (United States)
Secondary-side IGA/IGSCC continues to be a serious, potentially life-limiting mechanism in PWR steam generator alloy 600 mill-annealed tubing. The 1992 EPRI Workshop on Secondary-Side IGA/SCC--held December 8-10, 1992, in San Antonio, Texas--provided an opportunity to share utility experience reports, general research reports, and IGA/SCC inhibitor guidelines. Utility experience reports addressed tube examination, hideout and hideout return studies, and correlation of plant data. Research reports focused on the causes and mechanisms of IGA/SCC, specifically, studies on damage initiation and progression, film and scale analyses, and environmental effects. Finally, the discussion of inhibitors and remedies addressed the effectiveness of inhibitors, the mechanisms of inhibitor effectiveness, and plant applications.
