The structure of Ag{sub 2}O-M{sub x}O{sub y}-TeO{sub 2} (M{sub x}O{sub y} = WO{sub 3}, MoO{sub 3}, P{sub 2}O{sub 5}, and B{sub 2}O{sub 3}) glasses was investigated by Raman spectroscopy. Raman spectra shows that in addition to the expected TeO{sub 4} trigonal bipyramid (tbp), the TeO{sub 3} trigonal pyramid (tp), and the WO{sub 4}/WO{sub 6}, MoO{sub 4}/MoO{sub 6}, PO{sub 4}, and BO{sub 3}/BO{sub 4} polyhedra are present in tungstotellurite, molybdotellurite, phosphotellurite, and borotellurite glasses, respectively. The relation between the M{sub x}O{sub y} content and the intensity ratios of the deconvoluted Raman peaks I{sub 720}/I{sub 660} and I{sub 780}/I{sub 660} were studied. From the temperature variation study of the Raman spectra, it was observed that there is an increase in the TeO{sub 3} units with the increasing temperature. Although crystallization occurred easily during heating of the glasses in any system, the melts hardly ever crystallized during cooling.
