  1. California Air Resources Board, Sacramento, CA (United States)
The National Air Compliance Training Delivery Project (NACTDP) is a multi-year innovative partnership among the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), and state and local environmental regulatory agencies. The partnership was established in October 1992 to provide on-site, standardized, basic and advanced, air-compliance training nationwide. The model for the program is CARB`s Uniform Air Quality Training Program, established in the late 1980s to fulfill the need for a standardized air quality enforcement training curriculum for local air district staff in California. Over four years, the NACTDP has provided nearly 10,000 student-days of training throughout the US, with courses scheduled well into 1997. The training program continues to be successful in large part because NACTDP staff have responded to concerns and recommendations brought forth in needs assessments of potential recipients, student evaluations, and third-party audits of selected sessions. This information has been used to create an environmental compliance training program that continues to meet its original objective--to provide uniform air quality compliance training--yet is responsive to the changing needs of government and industry.
