This publication sets out the requirements for oil and gas operators in British Columbia with regard to the drilling of wells or test holes, including wells to produce or store petroleum or natural gas, injection wells, and wells to obtain water for injection. It includes information on general requirements for wells, well authorizations and referrals, site preparation, drilling operations, well completions, workovers, suspensions, cased hole abandonments, well monitoring and reporting, production allowables, production testing, pressure testing, well abandonment and reclamation, and wellsite restoration. Appendices include Ministry of Energy and Mines forms, ministerial information letters, sampling and logging guidelines, diagrams of blow-out prevention systems, and directions regarding the handling and disposal of camp wastes. It also includes an index.
