The purpose of this paper is to review the EPA`s proposed requirement for PM CEMS (particulate matter continuous emissions monitoring systems) for hazardous waste combustors including incinerators, cement kilns, and light weight aggregate kilns that burn hazardous waste. The paper will compare the three potential PM CEMS technologies to include light scattering, beta gage, and triboelectric. Since light scattering and beta gage technologies have been covered by the EPA test, this paper will concentrate on the performance and benefits of triboelectric technology.
