This conference was held April 7--9, 1997 in St Louis, Missouri. The purpose of this conference was to provide a multidisciplinary forum for exchange of state-of-the-art information on environmental toxicology. The presentations represent the three major components of ecotoxicology including the following: measures of toxicity of contaminants in water, sediment, soils, air, and dietary media to terrestrial and aquatic plants and animals; the monitoring, identification, and quantification of contaminants in the environment; and the assessment ecological and human health risks of exposure. Individual papers have been processed separately for inclusion in the appropriate data bases.
