The first Ti/Zr mixed-metal alkoxide was synthesized by the reaction of equimolar amounts of Ti(O{sup i}Pr){sub 4} and Zr{sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}O){sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}OH){sub 4} to give TiZr{sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}O){sub 4}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}OH){sub 2}(O{sup i}Pr){sub 2}. The 1:1 (Ti:Zr) mixed-metal product was obtained by reaction of Ti(O{sup i}Pr){sub 4} and Zr{sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}O){sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}OH){sub 4} (2:1 mole ratio, respectively) yielding Ti{sub 2}Zr{sub 2}(OCMe{sub 2}CMe{sub 2}O){sub 6}(O{sup i}Pr){sub 4}. Both products were characterized by X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic data are given.
