Isokinetic Inlet aboard the aircraft designed by Brechtel (Hayward, California) and modified by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Additional information can be found on the manufacturer’s website. An earlier model was used on the Gulfstream-159 (G-1) aircraft operated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Aerial Facility (AAF) until 2019. A newer version of this instrument will be deployed on the replacement Challenger 850 aircraft. Modifications to the inlet involve making the software compatible with the aircraft’s data acquisition system.
