Molecular Rydberg states in hydrogen negative ion discharges

The presence of Rydberg states in a negative-ion discharge that are generated by electron collisional excitation will increase the concentration of negative ions on the order of 1{percent} or less, compared to the concentration generated via dissociative attachment to ground-state vibrationally excited molecules. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
