Cross section for the {sup 103}Rh({ital n},{ital n}{prime}){sup 103}Rh{sup {ital m}} reaction in the energy range 5.7{endash}12 MeV

The {sup 103}Rh({ital n},{ital n}{sup {prime}}){sup 103}Rh{sup {ital m}} cross section was measured by the activation method in the neutron energy range 5.7{endash}12 MeV with an uncertainty of {approx_equal}5{percent}. Monoenergetic neutrons produced by the {ital D}({ital d},{ital n}){sup 3}He reaction were used to irradiate metallic Rh samples at 0{degree} relative to the deuteron beam. The {ital K} x rays from {sup 103}Rh{sup {ital m}} were measured with a calibrated Si detector, and the neutron fluence was determined by means of a {sup 238}U fission chamber. The measured cross sections resolve the discrepancies in previous data and agree with the results of recent statistical model calculations of the fast-neutron cross sections of rhodium. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
