Dimuon production and {ital B}{sup 0}{minus}{bar {ital B}}{sup 0} mixing at DO/

We report on a preliminary measurement of the inclusive dimuon cross section in {ital p{bar p}} collisions at {radical}{ital s}=1.8 TeV using the DO/ detector at the Fermilab collider. From these results, we extract the cross section for {ital b}-quark production for the kinematic range of {parallel}{ital y}{sup {ital b}}{parallel}{lt}1.0 and 9 GeV/c{lt}{ital P}{sup {ital bmin}}{sub {ital T}}{lt}25 GeV/c. We also report a measurement of the time and flavor average {ital B}{sup 0}{minus}{bar {ital B}}{sup 0} mixing probability ({chi}). We have deterimed {chi} to be 0.09{plus_minus}0.04({ital stat}){plus_minus}0.03({ital sys}) in good agreement with the world average. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
