I summarize recent data on the decay of charmed mesons into hadronic and semileptonic final states obtained primarily in fixed target experiments at Fermilab. In the semileptonic sector, these data provide tests of lattice gauge theories and quark models; while in the hadronic sector, they can be used to test factorization models and help elucidate the important role of final state interactions. I will also make a few guesses at the charm particle decay physics at fixed target facilities in the future. {copyright} {ital 1996 American Institute of Physics.}
