Double photoionization of sodium

We present results of calculations of double-electron photoionization for Na. With use of many-body perturbation diagrammatic representation, the relative importance of various processes, e.g. ground-state correlation, shake-up effects and inelastic internal scattering, are studied in detail. Different choices of single-particle potential to start the perturbation calculation are discussed. Cross sections of one outer electron 3s and one inner electron 2p ionized are shown over the energy range between 52 eV and 135 eV, and compared with recent synchrotron radiation measurement by Wuilleumier group.
