Quark model of {phi} coalescence from kaons in heavy-ion reactions
- Physics Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York 11973 (United States)
A quark model of kaon coalescence is developed which involves annihilation of the nonstrange quark pair in the process of forming a {phi} particle. Comparison is made with data on {phi} production with Si + Au collisions at the alternating-gradient synchrotron. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
