Bicyclo[4.1.0]hept-2-ene is readily transformed stereospecifically and regiospecifically via Pt(II) to trans-disubstituted cyclohexane and cyclohexene derivatives. A Pt(II) intermediate has been isolated. 19 refs., 2 tabs.
