Isotope ratio analysis utilizing glow discharge fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (GD-FTICR-MS)

The ability to measure isotope ratios accurately and with good precision is important in such diverse areas as geology and medicine, yet is often difficult to achieve. There has been relatively little work utilizing glow discharge ionization for the determination of isotopic ratios. The authors have analyzed the usefulness of coupling a glow discharge with FTICR-MS for ultra-high resolution isotope ratio analysis.
