Rare kaon decays with {open_quote}{open_quote}missing energy{close_quote}{close_quote}

Rare kaon decays due to the loop-induced standard model operator {ital s}{vert_bar}{sub {ital L}}{gamma}{sub {mu}}{ital d}{sub {ital L}}{nu}{vert_bar}{sub {ital L}}{gamma}{sup {mu}}{nu}{sub {ital L}} are examined. Isospin-violating mass effects and electroweak radiative corrections are shown to reduce {ital B}({ital K}{sup +}{implies}{pi}{sup +}{nu}{nu}{vert_bar}) and {ital B}({ital K}{sub {ital L}}{implies}{pi}{sup 0}{nu}{nu}{vert_bar}) relative to {ital B}({ital K}{sup +}{implies}{pi}{sup 0}{ital e}{sup +}{nu}{sub {ital e}}) by 10{percent} and 5.6{percent}, respectively. Predicted branching ratios for ({ital K}{sub {ital L}}{implies}{nu}{nu}{vert_bar}{gamma}) and ({ital K}{sub {ital L}}{implies}{nu}{nu}{vert_bar}) (if neutrinos have mass) are given. The sensitivity of {open_quote}{open_quote}missing energy{close_quote}{close_quote} rare {ital K} decays to new interactions or the emission of light weakly interacting neutral particles, other than neutrinos, is also briefly discussed. {copyright} {ital 1995 The American Physical Society.}
