The production of the MSSM Higgs boson {ital H}{sup 0}, {ital h}{sup 0}, {ital A}{sup 0}, and {ital H}{sup {plus_minus}}, in the intermediate mass range of the {ital A}{sup 0}, at two different values of tan {Beta}, is studied at the possible CERN LEP{circle_times}LHC {ital ep} collider, through {gamma}{ital p} interactions, by photons generated via Compton back scattering of laser light. Signatures in which {ital H}{sup 0}, {ital h}{sup 0}, {ital A}{sup 0}{implies}{ital b}{ital b}{vert_bar} and {ital H}{sup {plus_minus}}{implies}{tau}{nu}{sub {tau}} are considered. Flavor identification on {ital b} jets is assumed. Backgrounds to Higgs signals are computed. Explicit formulas for the helicity amplitudes of the Higgs processes are given. {copyright} {ital 1995 The American Physical Society.}
