Manpower Assessment Report No. 33: The role of two-year colleges in preparing students for careers in science and technology

Over 56,000 associate degrees were awarded in science, math, engineering, and technology fields in 1993. Two-year colleges prepare students for employment as technicians; they also provide education leading to bachelor`s or master`s degrees in science and engineering. Breakdowns of the associate degrees awarded by state, women, and underrepresented population (African-Americans, Hispanic, Native Americans) are given.
