The principal objectives of the DM100 tests were to determine the processing characteristics as the simulated melter feed transitioned from the LAW Sub-Envelope C2 to the Sub-Envelope A3 composition and to determine the effect of bubbling rate and sugar ratio on production rate. Additional objectives included measurement of the feed rheological properties and collection of melter emissions data. Screening tests are conducted at the DM100 scale in order to identify and correct potential problems before testing at the larger scale LAW Pilot melter. Testing goals were met in that the feed and testing protocol was found to be suitable for Pilot Melter testing based on the results of the DM100 melter tests.
