The ratios of the yields of deuterium-labeled isotopic species of methyl methacrylate, formaldehyde, methyl formate, methanol, and methane, the gaseous products of photolysis by vacuum UV irradiation of thin films of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), its partially deuterated derivatives PMMA-d{sub 2}, PMMA-d{sub 5}, and the copolymer of 40% ordinary methyl methacrylate and 60% totally deuterated methyl methacrylate-{sub 8} were determined by mass spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The sources of radiation were resonance xenon ({lambda}=147 nm) and krypton ({lambda} = 123.6 nm) lamps and a deuterium lamp (quasicontinuum of {lambda} > 177 nm).
