Two-particle correlations in 14.6A GeV/c {sup 28}Si+Pb central collisions

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:243954

Measurements of two-proton and two-pion correlations in 14.6A GeV/c {sup 28}Si + Pb central collisions have been made by E814/E877 at the BNL AGS. Charged particles are identified by momentum and time of flight measurements. Fairly central collisions ({sigma}/{sigma}{sub geom} {le} 10%) are selected by charged particle multiplicity and transverse energy measurements. Correlation functions are evaluated using mixing events method. Preliminary results for the extracted source parameters will be presented and compared with other experimental measurements (E802/E859) taken with the same beam but in a different kinematic regime.
