Production of the charmonium states in {pi}{sup -} A interactions at 530 GeV/c

The total and differential cross sections for J/{psi} production were measured in the Feynman x region 0.1 {le} x {le} 0.8 with 530 GeV/c {pi}{sup {minus}} beam incident on Beryllium and Copper targets. The authors compare the {sub pt} and {sub xf} distributions with those obtained at lower beam energies. They also measure cross sections for production of other charmonium states ({sub {chi}1}, {sub {chi}2}, {psi}{prime}).
