Suppression of tricritical point of {sup 3}He-{sup 4}He mixture in the presence of dilute impurities

The superfluid density of {sup 3}He-{sup 4}He mixture in 98% porous aerogel was measured by using torsional oscillator method. The measurements covered the overall range of mixture ratios. The main difference with the bulk mixture system is that the lambda line is detached from the {sup 3}He-{sup 4}He phase separation curve. The lambda line is found to extend down the OK at about 4% {sup 4}He mixture. This result implies an exciting possibility of miscible superfluid of {sup 3}He-{sup 4}He at low {sup 4}He concentration.
