Nuclear structure of neutron deficient {sup 111}Sb
- SUNY, Stony Brook, NY (United States); and others
Two experiments were performed to populate high-spin states in the Z=51 isotope {sup 111}Sb. At Stony Brook the reaction {sup 96}Ru({sup 19}F,2p2n) at 90 MeV with a backed target was used, and at Chalk River {sup 92}Mo({sup 23}Na,2p2n) at 120 MeV with a thin target. Three rotational structures were found. An interesting {Delta}I=2 band is assigned the configuration is 0{sub 2}{sup +}{direct_product} {pi}h{sub 11/2}; the 0{sub 2}{sup +} state is the deformed 2p2h state in the {sub 50}{sup 110}Sn core. Related structures have been reported in other odd-mass Sb nuclei. This band has been observed up to a spin of 83/2 and rotational frequency of 1 MeV. The observed 2-qp alignments and the behavior of the J{sup (2)} moment of inertia at high frequencies will be discussed. Also observed were two {Delta}I=1 bands involving the ({pi}g{sub 9/2}){sup {minus}1} configuration.
