Two-photon production of charged meson pairs

The cross section for the production of charged meson pairs at large effective mass by {gamma}{gamma} interactions is measured using the CLEO II detector at the CESR e{sup +}e{sup {minus}} storage ring. Rejection of the large background of ee and {mu}{mu} pairs was accomplished using the CsI electromagnetic calorimeter. Results from the high-mass continuum are compared with other experimental results and QCD prediction.
