For the purpose of reducing production costs, the authors have fabricated yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte for SOFC by extrusion. This is a conventional method using a water solvent. They made ceramic green sheets under 0.1 mm at optimum conditions. After sintering, they measured them in a H{sub 2}-O{sub 2} fuel cell. The maximum single-cell density was 1.1W/cm{sup 2} on Pt electrodes. And they used a cermet (Ni/YSZ) as a fuel electrode which was co-fired with YSZ sheet.
