Effect of additions of main components on sintering and reversed deformation of titanium nickelide powder: I. Sintering
- Institute of Problems of Materials Science, Kiev (Ukraine)
The ratio of the main components in the region of homogeneity of titanium nickelide after quenching from a high temperature strongly affects the temperature and sequence of martensitic transformations. This in turn determines the ratio of the restored strain after removing the load (superelasticity) and the subsequent heating (shape memory effect), i.e., the service properties of components. Consequently, the variation of the concentration of main components in the homogeneity region is a simple method of regulating the operating parameters of the material. The powder metallurgy methods enable this approach to be easily realized by adding to the charge the required component and combining the subsequent diffusion annealing with Wintering. This work is an attempt to determine the possibilities of varying the composition of the alloy in producing porous titanium nickelide from PN56T44 powder.
