A 126% high purity germanium detector was calibrated for intrinsic full-energy peak detection efficiency with two multiple-radionuclide point-source standards and a calibrated radium needle. The energy range was from 42.8 to 2447 keV. The results were consistent with a curve of efficiency vs energy constructed on the basis of Monte Carlo simulation from 100% at 42.8 keV to 86% at 176.3 keV and of least squares analysis for a straight line in logarithmic coordinates from there to 20.6% at 2447 keV. Calculations and corrections for geometry, attenuation, and other factors are discussed and the coefficient of variation for values taken from the curve.
