Nonlinear-mirror mode-locked 1052 nm Yb:CALGO laser

We report a diode-pumped nonlinear mirror mode-locked solid-state Yb:CALGO laser operating at 1052 nm. The nonlinear mirror consists of a BBO crystal and a dichroic mirror. Continuous-wave mode-locking with a 1.78 W average power at 116 MHz is obtained. The slope efficiency is 22.6%. The bandwidth of the mode-locked laser is 1.2 nm, Considering GVM of BBO, the pulse width is calculated to be 2.3 ps.
